Your budget allows it: with €550 of capacity a month, you can put aside €500.00 and still have €50 left. Putting all your capacity towards it, you would get there in 11 months, that is in August 2027.
Calculation without interest: only the amounts paid in are counted.
How the calculation works
The amount to put aside each month is the goal divided by the number of months in the horizon. Saving capacity is the difference between your net income and your monthly spending. If the first is less than or equal to the second, the goal is achievable within the deadline; otherwise, the calculator shows what is missing each month.
The completion date is the month in which the goal is fully funded by paying in the calculated amount from this month on. If your capacity allows it, a second date shows what paying in your entire saving capacity would give.
What the calculation does not count
The calculator assumes no interest: it counts the amounts paid in, not their return. An interest-bearing account would bring the completion date slightly closer, by an amount that depends on the rate. Nor does it take into account any savings you already have: deduct them from your goal.
Reading the share of income
The share of income compares the monthly effort with what you earn. Up to 20%, the effort is reasonable and in line with the 50/30/20 rule. Between 20% and 35%, it is ambitious: it requires cutting other spending. Beyond that, it is very demanding and hard to sustain for long. These thresholds are benchmarks specific to this site.
