Month-by-month tracking

The Month tab is the heart of everyday use. You see what has already been taken, what is still to pay and what your balance should be at the end of the month, taking into account what you add along the way.

Month detail in MoneyWr: closing balance, fixed costs and unplanned spending

Past, current, forecast

The list of months distinguishes three states: past months, whose balance is frozen; the current month, whose “to date” balance moves with your entries; and upcoming months, calculated from the budget.

The current month puts today’s balance and the amount still to pay by the end of the month front and centre. Fixed costs are sorted by payment day, and those due today are shown again on the home screen.

Unplanned items take three fields

An amount, a description, a category: an unplanned expense or a one-off income is added from the month page. The categories are those of everyday life: food, transport, housing, leisure, health, shopping, subscriptions.

A tab separates spending from income. Each line can be deleted with one gesture, and the end-of-month balance is recalculated immediately.

  • Unplanned spending and income, with category and date
  • Salary actually received, editable for the month
  • Transfer to savings recorded in the month
  • Opening balance, closing balance, total net worth

What the month tells you

At the bottom of the page, a summary lines up total income, total fixed costs, project spending and unplanned items. When an alert exists for that month, it is summed up in one sentence with the amount involved.

Fixed costs beyond the first four are collapsed to keep the page readable; a button expands them with their total.

Month-by-month tracking: frequently asked questions

How does MoneyWr know my “to date” balance?

It starts from the opening balance of the month, deducts the fixed costs already taken by today’s date and adds your entries. If a bank is connected, imported transactions are taken into account.

Can I change the salary for a specific month?

Yes. From the month page, the salary received can be edited in a small window and replaces the expected income for that month only.
