About

Born from a simple question: how much is left at the end of the month?

MoneyWr is an independent project, developed in France by a developer who wanted a budgeting tool with no ads, no reselling of data and no spreadsheet to maintain. Existing apps were very good at saying what had been spent. None answered the only question that matters when you are about to take out your card: can I?

The first version was a web app. It was used to set down the model: an income, fixed bills with their debit day, projects spread across the months, and an end-of-month balance calculated for every month of the year. In 2026 the project was rebuilt from scratch as a mobile app, because the question comes up on the phone, in a shop or in front of an online store.

The name

“MoneyWr” is read “money where”: where the money goes. The name was chosen after an availability study across app stores, domain names and neighbouring trademarks. It is short, it is free, and it says exactly what the app does.

The method

Every screen is tested in an Android emulator before it ships, with a suite of twelve scenarios that replays sign-up, the budget, the months, the projects, the purchase simulation, the questionnaire and the settings. A screen that compiles but has not been run is not shipped.

The decisions that involve your data are made once and for all: no ads, read-only banking through a licensed provider, AI that never receives an identity, notifications limited to the alert’s title and text. They are detailed on the Security and data page.

Where the project stands

The Android app is working and in testing. Publication on Google Play will go through a closed testing period with outside testers, as Google requires for a new developer account. The iOS version will follow; the code is already ready for both systems.

Under the hood

Four building blocks, chosen to last.

  • Android app

.NET MAUI, native interface, dark and light themes, Material Symbols icons.

  • Server

.NET 10 API, forecast calculation, notifications, bank connection and AI behind replaceable interfaces.

  • Database

PostgreSQL, sensitive fields encrypted, one database per environment.

  • Notifications

Firebase Cloud Messaging first; UnifiedPush with ntfy as a fallback on a phone without Google services.

Coming soon to Android and iPhone

Know where the money goes, before it’s gone.

MoneyWr is in testing. The Android version arrives on Google Play after the closed testing period. Until then, find out what the app does, and what it will never do with your data.
