A budget is personal. Here is what MoneyWr does with it.
A budget says where you live, what you earn, what you are paying back and what you dream of. MoneyWr was designed starting from there: the minimum of data, the maximum of control for you.
No ads, no reselling
MoneyWr has no ad network and passes your data to no one. What you enter is used to calculate your budget, full stop.
Banking credentials never seen
The bank connection goes through Bridge, a licensed account aggregation provider. You sign in with them, in their own flow; MoneyWr receives read-only access.
AI without identity data
The analysis receives amounts, labels, categories and months. Never your name, your email, your credentials or an account number.
Minimal notifications
With Google Play services, notifications go through Firebase Cloud Messaging; without them, through UnifiedPush and the ntfy app. In both cases they contain only the alert’s title and text.
Your data goes where you go
From the settings, export a full year as JSON and re-import it whenever you like. No closed format.
Hosted in the European Union
The MoneyWr server is hosted in the European Union. Exchanges with the app use HTTPS, and sensitive fields are encrypted in the database.
One app, one server, one database. Nothing else in between.
The Android app talks to a single server over HTTPS, with a session token specific to your account. The server keeps the budget in a PostgreSQL database whose sensitive fields are encrypted.
The bank connection and the AI analysis are two optional building blocks, each behind an interface that the server can replace without touching your data. The AI provider receives only an anonymous extract of the budget, and the banking provider does not know your MoneyWr account.
How the project is built is detailed on the About page.
The questions people ask before entrusting their budget.
What data does MoneyWr store?
Your email and a hashed password for the account; your budget (income, balance, bills, projects, unexpected costs); your answers to the profile questionnaire; and, if you connect a bank, the transactions and balances received from the provider.
Who can read my data?
You, from the app, with your account. Data is isolated per user on the server and is not looked at for commercial purposes.
What happens if I delete my account?
Your data is erased from the server. Remember to export your year first if you want to keep a copy.
Can MoneyWr make a transfer or a payment?
No. Bank access is strictly read-only. No operation can be initiated from the app or from the server.
The legal detail is in the privacy policy .
Know where the money goes, before it’s gone.
MoneyWr is in testing. The Android version arrives on Google Play after the closed testing period. Until then, find out what the app does, and what it will never do with your data.
